About Our Salvation Study:
The moment of salvation is the beginning of our relationship with God. All relationships must begin somewhere, and the moment we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior is when we enter into relationship wit God. Without Jesus in our lives our sin separates us from God, making a relationship impossible. When we accept Jesus Christ our sins are forgiven, and a new relationship begins.
The term "salvation" in the Bible carries the general idea of safety or deliverance - being set free. In the New Testament the term almost always applies to being set free from the power of sin. Salvation is freely offered to everyone, with only one condition - faith in Jesus Christ.
If you have been saved, take a few moments and write the story of your salvation experience: How did God get your attention? Do you remember the date / place you were when you accepted Jesus as your Savior? In speaking with others about salvation, a great way to break the ice is by asking them a simple question, "Can you tell me about a time when you were saved?" Be prepared to be amazed by the stories of how God leads people to Himself!
If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your savior please study this lesson intently, and you will see that only through Jesus can we be saved! At the end of this study you will find a copy of "The Sinner's Prayer." I encourage you to pray this prayer from your heart, inviting Jesus into your life as you Savior and Lord!
May God bless you in your study.
